I have always been self hosted my own mail server and Web server, for some irrational reason. A few years ago I wanted to host a CMS (Content Management Service)
i.e. blog. I started off with WordPress as many people do, but it was just too much for me. I wanted something dead simple and pragmatic. With no need for such large system, the whole idea got parked.

Some time ago I decided to give it a new try. I found an installation of Ghost on my main server. I recall that I at some point installed it but it was not working and I have a weak memory that had some issues with it. So I decided to drop it and try something else.

I tumbled over Dropplets. It certainly looked simple and the it said; 30 second install and setup and no database.. I certainly was light weight and simple but it required some non obvious tweaking and with none existent guides it become too cumbersome for me. Never figured out how to get upload of images to work.

Yesterday I found FlatPress it looked clean and free from over worked marketing BS. German spitzenklass engineering? It also had some down to earth guides for how to install and setup the software. Worked out of the box. Looks good so far, but time will tell.

I have no purpose with this blog and I will be a bit surprised if it will be any active and interesting. But as said; time will tell.

However one purpose is to see whatever this blog can make its way into the Google search engine. Yes, I know about Google Search Console and site maps.

So now I would see if this is fun, joy and happiness :-)
